Great tutorial, thanks. One thing I have found helpful with close up portraits of people who are a bit camera shy is to use silent shutter mode (5dMK3).
Great stuff, Emily, thank you so much! (PS: I found "Minimal Lighting on Location" with a search, but maybe add a link in the description, too? Just to make it easier?)
Another option I'd like to see is lighting through an umbrella or into a reflector with this kind of small lights. This would be tremendously helpful for travel photography if it works 🙂
This was an interesting video, but I came away with the conclusion that if you need full-sized v-flats and push hard on camera settings to make this work as a single light source without ambient light, it is probably the wrong tool for the job. I was impressed enough with the pavotube video that I bought the light based on the added punch and highlights it gave on the street location and would like to have seen the panel tried with more ambient light set-ups.
Hi... awesome job... love the mood in your images...
I’m always amazed at the difference a reflector (and, v-flat for that matter) can make!!!
Nailed it! Great and in depth video
Excellent and well documented video with actual camera settings. Thank you Emily for sharing!
Great video, thank you.
My favorite is the setup with the light from behind and the v-flat on her side.
I will have to check the website during the summer or fall. Have what I need for now.
Loved this tutorial. Gave me ideas for my limited light sources. Thank you
How do you attach the NanLite LitoLite 5C to the C-Stand? and thanks for reminding me of the Turtle bases, better than a tripod at times!
Hi... It's a different look, has a cool modern fashion feel to it.
Thanks Emily for this very instructive end of the year video.
Best wishes!

Wonderful work! As a new photographer without a bank roll, this information is priceless!
Excellent, thank you!
Thank you for this Emily - it’s given me some great ideas! 🙏
Thank you Emily and Happy Holidays. (BTW I like the sketched b/w portrait on the wall).
informative 10mins
Love it, so simple
Creatively simple yet lots of take aways on how to control light
I liked that thank you. Very simple and easily understood. A very good short tutorial.
I liked the light behind her much better for the effects that you are trying to accomplish
What lens did you used ?
Great stuff, Emily, thank you so much! (PS: I found "Minimal Lighting on Location" with a search, but maybe add a link in the description, too? Just to make it easier?)
These are great. This would be perfect if you had people over for parties and wanted to do mini mini sessions.

Very good technique
Great presentation. Where we can find that little led light?
I have often tried to use small LED lights but the batteries always seem to die within about 10 minutes.
Hi!
Simple is always better and cheaper
hi Emily

Wrong lens for portrait. Bad light
